BILOS and ASCOMARE conclude a new cooperation agreement
Through an exchange of letters, on 23 February 2021, came into force the new cooperation agreement between the Associazione di Consulenza in Diritto del Mare (ASCOMARE) and the Brazilian Institute for the Law of the Sea (BILOS). Due to the fruitful first cooperation agreement, established on 8 October 2020, ASCOMARE and BILOS decided to deepen their partnership.
Based on the principles of environmental conservation and protection of human rights, conscious that international peace and security, as well as the social and economic interests of States, depend on a healthy marine environment, ASCOMARE and BILOS start to work together inter alia in the co-organization of events, workshops, seminars, training and other teaching initiatives; reciprocal publishing the research carried out by its members; elaboration and execution of research and extension projects; and consultancy in preparation of maritime legislation projects.
As a very first measure taken by BILOS, in the current regime of cooperation, ASCOMARE is officially added in the list of its partners.
